Hoi An biking through countryside and villages
This biking tour through the beautiful countryside of Hoi An, bring you through charming tracks to an old pottery village, Tra Que vegetable village and a stop at a traditional lantern making workshop. Learn how pottery and lanterns have been made for a long time and at a local farm a meal is prepared from the homegrown fruit and vegetables.
This biking tours starts from your hotel in Hoi An. Cycle through the ancient town and along a branch of the Thu Bon river, going to Thanh Ha pottery village.
This pottery village is still producing pots, bowls, plates and tiles, that are being used in restoring some of the old building in Hoi An, the same way they have been doing for many generations.
Next the bike ride goes deeper into the countryside and the road slowly narrows and turns to a pleasant dirt road. Enjoy one of the most beautiful parts of the biking trip. Slowly cycling through wide open rice paddies on a long section of single track trail, with water buffaloes bathing in the shallow pools.
You pass duck farms and green fields of peanut and sweet potatoes. You can think about the fact that this is the view of Vietnam’s countryside how it has been for generations.
After this great biking section, you arrive at Tra Que Village. Here you can learn the traditional way farming with the locals. The vegetables here are special because they do not use any pesticides or chemical fertilizer. Prepare a meal with the vegetables and fruit that is grown here.
Your last stop is at Ha Linh lantern factory, where you can learn all the steps in making a traditional Hoi An lantern. You make one of your own to keep it.
The last part is a bike ride from about 15 minutes back to Hoi An.
