The famous Chicken Village (Lang Ga) is a collection of houses on the road to Nha Trang. The K’Ho village, about 17 km from Dalat, owes its name to a 5-meter high concrete chicken on the village square for no apparent reason – nobody knows exactly what the chicken is all about, though there are many theories: from the in love girl who died chasing chickens to the socialist tribute to the brave chicken farmers. In any case, it has been a photo opportunity for busloads of tourists for many years. Accordingly many souvenir shops line up. Most of the work was done by Cham artisans from the Phan Rang / Thap Cham area.
