Itinerary

Day 1Sapa – Ta Phin – Phin Ho – Lu Khau - Suoi Thau 17 km

Your Sapa off the beaten track tour starts at 9:00 am from the town of Sapa. A car will take you to Ta Phin commune, home to the Red Dao and Black Hmong people.

Here you will experience the authentic lifestyle of the locals while you are walking along the paths. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the rice paddy fields and great views.

After half an hour, you start an uphill hike to get up and have an amazing view of natural wonders of the country side of Sapa. This 2.5 hours trekking will take you through the mountains, valleys, forests and terraced rice fields.

You will reach Phin Ho village, located on the border of Ta Phin and Ban Khoang commune. The village offers a panoramic view of Ban Khoang valley. Enjoy the surroundings while relishing a delicious lunch with a local family.

After finishing lunch, you will walk downhill through the paddy fields to Lu Khau village, where you will be warmly welcomed by the Red Dao and Blue Hmong people. There is a salmon farm where you will experience the salmon up close.

Your trek will continue on a footpath to Suoi Thau village in the late afternoon. Here, you will check in with your Red Dao host for a night’s stay. You may interact with your Red Dao host, participate in cooking and appreciate the tasty local food. You may rest for the night after dinner.

Day 2Suoi Thau – Gia Thau - Kim Ngan - Ta Giang Phinh – Sapa 12 km

Wake up with a cup of tea or coffee and a local breakfast, giving you enough energy for the trek of this day. In the morning, you will take a short trek around Suoi Thau village where you can see the daily life of the Red Dao minority.

Next you will wal through Gia Thau village to see the massive terraced rice fields. Next you will reach Kim Ngan village. Here, you enjoy a picnic lunch at a local family, with spectacular views on the background.

After lunch, you will follow a short footpath uphill heading to Ta Giang Phinh village, with views on rice fields and Buddha’s Hand Mountain. You will reach the center of Ta Giang Phinh village after another hour trek. Visit the house of a local Blue Hmong and learn about the differences of the traditional customs and costume with the Red Dao and Black Hmong people.

A car will take you back to Sapa town. On the way you stop to take pictures of Cold Waterfall and Mount Fansipan Cable Car station. Your trekking tour will end at Sapa.
