A trekking top the top of Mount Fansipan in Sapa in 1 day is perfect for hardcore trekkers short on time, but not on energy. It is required for you to be of a high level of fitness to complete this climb in 1 day.
Sapa —> Park Ranger’s Station —> Fansipan Summit —> Park Ranger’s Station —> Sapa
Distance: 20 km
You meet your guide and driver between 5:30 am and 6:00 am. You then get transferred by a car to Fansipan Park Ranger’s Station, about 15km from Sapa and around 2,000 meter high. Here you make yourseld ready for the climb of Mount Fansipan.
During the hike you will enjoy the mountains ecosystem, rich of more than 2000 floral varieties and more than 300 fauna species. The hallenging ascent and descent will take around 7 to 8 hours.
The hike goes through stunning deciduous and evergreen forests, crystal clear mountain streams and steep ridges. The short breaks along the way will give you more time to enjoy the scenic views that this climb has to offer.
With increasing altitude, also the forest types changes, dwarf bamboo is all that can survive higher up the mountain.
Around midday you arrive at the summit, 3,142 meters high and celebrate this victory with a picnic lunch, sitting high above the mountains with views of stunning mountainous landscape.
The descent, will take around 3 to 4 hours, depending on individual fitness levels. At the starting point a car will be waiting for you to take you back to Sapa.
The tour ends with a soothing herbal medicine bath or foot massage.
