Things to do in Hue
The city breaths a lot of atmosphere and is a lust for the eye. Hué is famous for the architectural highlights and the beautiful streams that flow through the city. The city is the ancient imperial capital of Vietnam of the Nguyen emperors. It is full of palaces, temples, tombs and pagodas including the Thieng Mu Pagoda. Hue shows how the Nguyen period looked like, with including building like the Forbidden Purple City. Although most buildings were destroyed or damaged by the Americans during the war, the city still has countless cultural treasures.
A great thing to do in Hue is to go around the imperial city. You can also learn more about the Vietnam War around this city, by making day trips to the DMZ (Demilitarized zone), Vinh Moc tunnels and former US army base Phu Bai.
