The Cao Dai Temple on Haiphong Street in Da Nang is the largest temple of this religion besides Tay Ninh. The temple was built in 1956, is less colorful than the famous counterpart in the sect’s headquarters and resembles a Chinese pagoda. There are estimated to be 20,000 followers of Cao Dai in Da Dang.
Women enter the temple through the left door and men through the right door; The middle entrance is reserved for the priests. Behind the sanctuary is a giant globe with the all-seeing eye, the symbol of the Cao Dai. Above the temple is a picture of the five founders of the religions on which Caodaism is based: Mohammed, Lao Tse, Jesus, Buddha and Confucius.
There are four prayer services a day: at 6:00 am, 12:00 pm, 6:00 pm and 12 am.
